A former official of the Ministry of Defence, Aliyu Isma’ila, OON, has paid glowing tribute to the gallant men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, acknowledging their immense sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and unity.

In a goodwill message issued on Thursday, Isma’ila said the day provided an opportunity for Nigerians to stand together as one nation to solemnly remember, honour, and celebrate the courage and selfless service of the Armed Forces, whose unwavering commitment continues to keep the nation’s flag flying high.

Drawing from his personal experience while serving at the Ministry of Defence, Isma’ila described members of the Armed Forces as professionals of uncommon dedication, discipline, and resilience. “Having had the privilege of working closely with the Armed Forces, I can personally attest to their unwavering commitment to the service of our great country,” he stated.

“Their resilience in the face of danger, prolonged separation from loved ones, and personal hardship is a powerful testament to true patriotism.”

He further offered prayers for the protection and wellbeing of military personnel currently deployed across various theatres of operation, as well as for their families at home.

“May your labour never be in vain. I pray for God’s continued protection over you wherever duty calls. May the Almighty guard your families and loved ones while you stand in defence of the nation, and may He reunite you safely with them after every mission,” he said.

Isma’ila concluded by praying for divine strength and guidance for the Armed Forces, while calling for national unity, peace, and sustained security across the country.“May God bless and strengthen the Nigerian Armed Forces, and may He continue to uphold our nation in unity, peace, and security,” he added.
