The Adamawa State Government has announced the cancellation of all activities scheduled for the 2025/2026 Crossover Night at the Unity Flyover in Jimeta, Yola, citing credible intelligence reports linked to security concerns.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the government said the decision affects programmes planned for the night of 31 December 2025 through the early hours of 1 January 2026 at the popular Jimeta–Yola axis.
According to the statement, the measure was taken as a precaution to safeguard lives and property, stressing that the safety and security of citizens remain the government’s top priority.The government reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with security agencies to maintain peace and stability across the state.
Residents, particularly those in Yola North and Yola South Local Government Areas, were advised to remain vigilant, avoid crowded places, and promptly report any suspicious activities to security authorities.
The state government assured the public that further updates would be communicated as the situation develops.The statement was signed by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, and dated 30 December 2025.
