Gov. Fintiri to Present 2026 Budget to Adamawa Assembly Thursday

Yola, December 17, 2025

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, is set to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill, tagged the “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Renewal,” to the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, the budget presentation is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the Assembly Complex in Yola.

The 2026 budget proposal is expected to prioritise economic empowerment, poverty reduction, and accelerated infrastructure development, in line with Governor Fintiri’s 8-Point Development Agenda, which focuses on inclusive growth and improved service delivery across the state.

The administration has consistently emphasised fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability in budget implementation.

In previous fiscal years, the state’s budgets were developed in strict alignment with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) to ensure sustainability and value for public spending.

Stakeholders anticipate that the 2026 budget will consolidate ongoing development initiatives while introducing new interventions aimed at strengthening the state’s economy and improving the living standards of residents.

The budget presentation will formally commence the legislative process for scrutiny and eventual passage by the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

The Governor Fintiri-led government has been widely praised for its massive infrastructure leap in the city center and on one hand sharply criticized for the lopsided Yola-based infrastructure concentration while neglecting other parts of the state.

it remains to be seen whether the 2026 budget would be a reflection of his government’s mantra, “Leaving Nothing Untouched and No one Behind.”
