Fintiri Dismisses Rumours of School Closure, Warns Against Spread of False Information
Yola, Adamawa State — November 28, 2025
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has dismissed as false a rumour circulating on social media claiming that the State Government has ordered the closure of schools. The Governor described the report as “baseless, unfounded, and the handiwork of mischief makers determined to create panic and disrupt public peace.”
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri made it clear that the government has not directed any school to shut down and has no plans to do so.
“Schools should continue with academic activities as usual,” the Governor said, urging the public to disregard the misleading information.
Governor Fintiri cautioned those behind the rumour to desist immediately, warning that the government will take decisive action against individuals or groups spreading falsehoods capable of causing chaos in the state.
“We will not tolerate any attempt to undermine our efforts to reposition the education sector and improve the lives of our citizens,” he stated.
The Governor highlighted the significant progress made in improving the education sector, reiterating his administration’s commitment to transforming Adamawa State into a hub of educational excellence.
He appealed to residents to remain calm and continue supporting government initiatives aimed at building a better and more prosperous state.
“Anyone found guilty of spreading malicious rumours will face the full weight of the law,” Fintiri warned.
