Yola, Nigeria – April 2025
Adamawa State is set to take the global stage as the cultural capital of the world with the launch of ADAFEST-25, a groundbreaking cultural festival spearheaded by His Excellency Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
As part of preparations for the historic event, the Publicity Committee of ADAFEST-25 recently embarked on a series of courtesy visits to media houses across the state, rallying support for what is being described as the greatest cultural display on earth.
Speaking on behalf of the Special Adviser on Information, Communication, and Strategy, Dr. John Ngamsa, committee member Mr. Padio Phenias stressed the importance of media collaboration in showcasing Adamawa’s rich cultural diversity to the world. “With over 100 ethnic nationalities coming together in one place, this festival is a global cultural statement, and the media is essential in telling that story,” he said.
Scheduled to hold from April 25 to 29, 2025 at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Jimeta-Yola, ADAFEST-25 is not just a festival, it is Governor Fintiri’s vision of unity through culture made manifest. It will feature dance, music, fashion, crafts, and heritage displays, culminating in the launch of a cultural compendium to serve as a research archive.
Media executives from ATV, GOTEL FM Fombina FM, and NAS FM welcomed the initiative, describing it as a unifying step for the people of Adamawa. They praised Governor Fintiri for trusting in the power of culture to shape identity and thanked him for believing in local media’s capacity to bring the message to the grassroots.
As the world looks to Yola, Governor Fintiri’s leadership continues to position Adamawa as the undisputed global hub of cultural excellence.
