In a profound display of unity and solidarity, the Obidient Movement worldwide in Adamawa joined the Muslim faithful in observing Iftar at Masjid Al-Noor mosque in Karewa, Yola. The event was not just about breaking fast; it was a call to all Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and harmony—values deeply embedded in the principles of Peter Gregory Obi and the Obidients Movement Worldwide.
Leading the Obidients delegation, Mr. Lucas Domgelma, who spoke on behalf of the global coordinator, Yunusa Tanko and the northeast coordinator, Joseph Enan Maigari, reiterated Obi’s unwavering commitment to a united Nigeria, where people are not divided by religion or ethnicity but are bound by a shared vision of national progress. He conveyed Obi’s regards to Muslim faithful across the country, urging both Muslims and Christians to use this sacred period, Ramadan and Lent to pray for Nigeria’s prosperity.
The Imam of Masjid Al-Noor mosque Karewa commended the Obidient Movement for standing in solidarity with their Muslim brethren, stressing that being each other’s keeper is a duty that transcends faith. “We must never forget that we are all members of the same family, regardless of our religion,” remarked Muhammed Umar, “Nigeria can only grow when we see each other as one people. Those who seek to divide us will only succeed if we let them.”
Some members of the community who were at the iftar, reinforced the message of togetherness as they collectively say. ” Unity is our foundation as a people and a nation. We stand with Peter Obi in his commitment to a better Nigeria one where everyone, regardless of background, works towards a common goal.”
The Iftar gathering in Adamawa was more than an event, it was a statement. A statement that Nigerians, bound by a shared destiny, can rise above divisions and work towards a collective good. The Obidients, through this act, reaffirmed their belief that Nigeria’s strength lies in its unity, and the dream of a prosperous nation is one that must be pursued together.
