Yola, Nigeria – The West African Youth Congress (WAYC) has expressed its appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Musa for their dedicated efforts in combating terrorism. The organization acknowledges their leadership in fostering a significant reduction in terrorist activities across Nigeria.

In a statement signed by Secretary-General and Head of Mission, Mohammed Ahmed Marafa, the WAYC highlighted President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges. According to the organization, his administration has made remarkable progress in strengthening national security, with a coordinated approach that has led to tangible improvements in counterterrorism efforts.

The Congress also praised Malam Nuhu Ribadu for his intelligence-driven strategies that have enhanced security operations nationwide. Since assuming office, Ribadu has played a pivotal role in improving coordination among security agencies, facilitating intelligence-sharing, and boosting operational efficiency, all of which have weakened terrorist networks.

“Nuhu Ribadu’s methodical approach to national security, drawing from his extensive experience in law enforcement, has revitalized counterterrorism operations and established a comprehensive framework addressing both immediate threats and the root causes of insecurity,” the statement read.

Similarly, the WAYC commended General Christopher Musa and the Nigerian military for their sacrifices and commitment to protecting the nation. The organization emphasized that young people are among the most affected by insecurity, making the military’s success in restoring stability a crucial victory for Nigeria’s youth and future development.

“Insecurity is the primary factor hindering development, and young people are always at the receiving end. As a youth-based organization, we recognize the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform and are grateful for their unwavering resolve to defend our great nation,” Marafa stated.

As Nigeria continues to record progress in the fight against terrorism, the WAYC reaffirmed its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, and sustainable development across West Africa.
