The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has extended his congratulations to Muslims in the state and around the world as they commence the holy month of Ramadan.
Governor Fintiri described Ramadan as a sacred period for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and renewed devotion to the worship of Allah. He emphasized that fasting, a fundamental pillar of Islam, serves as a means of humility and purification for the faithful who abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset.
“As we observe the Ramadan fast alongside Muslims worldwide, it is important to remain vigilant, especially in places of worship,” the governor stated. He reassured residents that the government has implemented security measures to ensure their safety but urged individuals to remain cautious and alert.
Addressing the state of the nation, Fintiri called on Nigerians to unite and reject forces seeking to exploit divisions or cause unrest.
“Our country has recently witnessed rising insecurity and division. It is imperative that we work together to overcome these challenges and foster peace and unity,” he urged.
The governor encouraged Muslims to use this sacred period for spiritual renewal, prayers, and acts of kindness, particularly by seeking peace in Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.
“I urge all religious adherents to embrace love and peaceful coexistence, values for which Adamawa State is widely known,” he added.
Governor Fintiri also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to witness Ramadan in 2025, urging Muslims to use the period to strengthen their faith and adhere to the teachings of the Holy Quran as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“As we seek Allah’s guidance in this holy month, let us embody the lessons of the Prophet, pray fervently for peace, and remain committed to unity and national progress,” he concluded.
