Hope Rises as APC Reconciliation Committee Unites Aggrieved Factions in Adamawa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State is making significant strides toward resolving its long-standing internal crisis, as a high-powered committee led by Senator Mana has successfully brought feuding factions to the negotiating table. The committee, established to address the party’s divisions stemming from the 2023 general elections, has commenced its reconciliation efforts with renewed optimism, after beginning formal sittings this November.

Following the setting-up of the Reconciliation Committee by the Party about a fortnight ago, various stakeholders of the Party in the State have continued to demonstrate commitment to resolving the lingering disagreement among the State’s Party faithful by availing themselves to the kind invitation of the Sen.Mohammed Mana-led Committee.

Already, the atmosphere has been mellowed by a seeming mindset by all groups and individual stakeholders of the Party in the State to put away their differences and come together to reclaim their position in the political equation of Adamawa State where the Party has been in opposition in the last eight years.

The above position, which follows a series of meetings being held in Abuja, one of which was on Tuesday attended by various stakeholder groups of the Party in the State , including elder statesmen, youth groups as well as current political appointees and elected officials from the State serving at the National Assembly, remain tangible pointers to the fact the long-awaited truce in the Adamawa State Chapter of the Party is almost a fait accompli.

The reconciliation paley holding in Abuja initiated by the Party, which set up the Committee had mandated it to ensure that all warring factions in the Party across the State are enjoined to sheath their swords for the collective progress of the Party, which from available statistics constitutes almost 90% of the most renowned political elite in the State.

The 7-man Reconciliation Team includes:
Sen. Mohammed Mana, Chairman; Sen.Mohammed Bello Tukur ,member; His Excellency,Hon. Martins Babale, a former Deputy Governor in the State, member;as well as Rt.Hon.Yusuf Buba Yakub,a former Member of the House of Representatives and current Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps.

Others are Sen. Abubakar Girei, member,Sen.Binta Masi Garba and Dr. Mrs. Bridget Zidon, both of whom are also distinguished members of the Committee.Barr.Isa Baba serves as the Secretary and Head of the Secretariat for the Committee.

Meanwhile, following the above moves, the Committee, in its bid to consolidate the reconciliatory efforts, will in the weeks ahead continue to broaden its scope of consultation with various stakeholders and leaders of the Party in Adamawa no matter where they may be across the nation.
