#EndBadGovernance: The Best CP in Nigeria as Police in Adamawa Distributes Water to Protesters

As the #EndBadGovernanceProtest begins across the country, Adamawa citizens were not left in the nationwide event as protesters were seen holding placards and chanting their demands and demanding for good governance.

Addressing the public in Yola, one of the protesters, Jonah said, “We are not here to get minimum wage, that is not our problem. We want the Tinubu-led government to immediately reverse the ill-advised removal of fuel subsidy because it has not helped the poor. He just changed the beneficiaries of the proceeds of oil subsidy removal from oil marketers to himself, governors and other government officials.

“Nigerians are angry and hungry and government must listen to us.”

Some of the protesters call for reduction of electricity tariff in the country, an improvement in the economy, a removal of ban on the  importation of food crops,  among other demands.

While the protest persist the situation in Adamawa state was a rare display of the common saying of what it means for police to be your friend as police officers were seen distributing water to protesters and providing cover and guard for the protesters.

This could not be too distance from the earlier statement by the Adamawa State Commioner of Police, Morris Dankwambo , while rolling out the rules of engagement for members of the force, ordered his men not to use lethal for in its engagement  with the protesters.

The Dankwambo said, “Do not use lethal force on protesters, if by some chance some miscreants join the protest and if their action compel you, use your batton and tear gas only when necessary.”

The CP who spoke through his PPRO, urged the public and the protesters to be law abiding and stay away from destroying public property.

So far, the protest have been peaceful and free of incidents as citizens collaborate with the police to ensure an incident free protest.
