The Obidients Movement Harmonisation Nationwide national chairman, Joseph Maigari has slammed Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, over his spurious claims that Peter Obi is behind that planned national protest.

Maigari demands that Onanugu should provide a proof to his false allegations or retract his comments.

Maigari made the remarks in a press release issued by the Harmonization director of mobilisation Mmaduabuchi Chekwubechukwu, and made available to Rendezvous, Tuesday.

“We the youth wing of the OBIDIENT MOVEMENT HARMONIZATION NATION WIDE categorically deny the baseless allegations made by the irresponsible spokesperson Bayo Onanuga that Mr Peter Obi is behind the popular August Protest against the Anti-people policies of the insensitive government of President Tinubu. Peter Obi is not in the business of inciting chaos but he is interested in good governance and dividends of democracy for the citizens of Nigeria.

“These claims are entirely false and misleading. We respect the rights of citizens to peacefully assemble and express their grievances, but Our Principal is not orchestrating nor funding any protest,” the statement reads.

Maigari challenges that, “We urge those peddling these falsehoods to provide evidence or retract their statements. Let’s focus on constructive dialogue and addressing the genuine concerns of our citizens rather than spreading misinformation.

“We as a movement and people of Nigeria remain committed to working towards the betterment of our country and promoting peaceful and democratic means of expression.”
