- Pleads with Nigerians to Shelve Planned Nationwide Protest, Hope is On The Way
The national chairman of Tinubu/Shetima Foundation, Yahaya Hamanjulge has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu admonishing that the struggles Nigerians are going through today will not last for long as the president and his team are working tirelessly to address the serious economic and developmental needs of Nigeria.
Hamanjulde said that rebuilding Nigeria will be tough, but if Nigerians exercise some patience, the country is on the path to regaining its lost glory.
Yahaya Hamanjulde made this known at the meeting of the Tinubu/Shetima Foundation over the weekend in Yola, Adamawa state.
Yahaya said, “Nigeria is at the cusp of a major turnaround from years of bad governance, poor leadership, and gross underutilisation of our natural and human resources. President Tinubu is rebuilding the country; we must give him time and courage to effect these changes. This is the man who has taken it upon himself to effect all the changes that would shift the focus of this country towards the development and progress that has eluded us, we must stand as one people, to develop our country and give our people the opportunity to prosper, we have all the resource and Tinubu and Shetima led APC government are focused on making us enjoy the benefits of our divine blessing, let us give them the chance.
“so this gathering here is designed to mobilise support for him and the agenda he is driving so that we can have a better country today and for our children.”
speaking on his party, the APC, he said, “For a very long time this party has been in disarray and most of the stakeholders have been on their own at the state and national levels. there is disquiet within the party that has not been settled, quarrels that are yet to be resolved and we cannot go into 2027 with a divided house. This meeting’s first and primary objective is to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our leader here in the northeast, vice president Kashim Shetima. we have instructed all our supporters and members of the APC to keep faith in the leadership of APC and those who are thinking of defecting to other parties to still maintain faith in the party.”
Yahaya Hamanjulde made a passionate call to Tinubu, vice resident Shetima, and Umar Ganduje, to wade into the party crisis at APC in Adamawa with the view to resolving any internal crisis and forging a way forward for the party. Right there more aggrieved members than. he said, Shetima must see the crisis at APC as his crisis because he is the biggest person when it comes to party politics in the entire northeast.”
The APC chieftain speaking on the planned nationwide protest over the economy in the country said, “I am appealing to Nigerians to sheath their sword and give Tinubu some time. Under Tinubu Nigeria will rise again and we will soon be proud to call Nigeria our home.
“There is no need for protest although we understand that as citizens we have the right to protest but let us not jeopardize the progress we are making, let us allow real change to set in.”
Speaking at the occasion, the secretary of the foundation, Julius Kadala said, the foundation is poised on raising support for the president and his vice because in the 2023 elections, we did not do well at the polls. even though the vice president is an indigene of the northeast, only one state was won by APC which is a woeful performance. We aim to improve on that. We are calling on APC faithful at all levels and our leaders at the national down to the state level to come back home and begin the process of reconciliation and change within the party..
Several stakeholders at the event unanimously called for a process of genuine reconciliation as most members of the party have lost faith in the leadership of the party and are on the verge of joining other political parties.
