“Today, I stand here as the President Emnamu Foundation, the organisers of this event to celebrate the accomplishments of this great man, while he held sway as the Chairman, Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State.
“Bishop Dami Mamza has used his Vintage office as the CAN Chairman, Adamawa State to better the lives of the poor, the less privileged and the downtrodden, who are faced with numerous challenges and difficulties of life, especially at trying times like this,” Musa stresses.
He explained that, “It may interest you to note that, I am celebrating Bishop Dami today, not necessarily because I am a Christian, but because our love for humanity and community service binds us together.
“In the same spirit, we swim. Bishop and I, believe that the true measure of riches lies not in the depth of your pocket nor the size of your bank account(s) but how many lives you have touched, changed and transformed.
“How much care, concerns and affections you show, especially to the poor and the vulnerable.
“We believe that in the end, no one would be remembered for how much they have but how much they care. We also believe that life is transient and one day, we would all join our creator in the land beyond.
“Bishop Dami and I believe that we would not be buried with our wealth and riches, but certainly and surely, our wealth and riches will speak for us, even on the Day of Judgment. So this is our belief and this is our motivation to serve humanity.”
Musa adds that, “A day like this calls for sober reflection and deep introspection especially our political leaders, whose mandate is given to them freely by the people yet they fail to reckon with that
and have become carefree about the problems, predicaments and plights of the same people from whom they derive their source of wealth, instead, they are obsessed with primitive accumulation of wealth.”
Goodwill messages were delivered at the occasion by numerous organisations including traditional bodies, Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria, among other bodies.
The event was capped with the donation of matrasses, grains, vegetable oil and cash to about five hundred physically challenged and economically challenged members of the society.
