
The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, salutes the resilience and faith in democracy of the people of Adamawa State and all Nigerians on this years occasion of Democracy Day, June 12th.
Fintiri says although it is regrettable that Nigerians are yet to fully reap the fruits of democracy as promised but the resilience and determination shown by Nigerians in upholding democracy would soon payoff.
Gov. Fintiri made the remarks in a press statement issued by his Chief Press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, and made available to newsmen, Monday.
“I commend the resilience and determination of Nigerians in upholding democratic values and principles. May I also acknowledge the progress made in the past two decades and pledge my administration’s commitment to deepening democracy and improving the lives of citizens, ” Fintiri says.
The Governor urges all Adamawa residents and the country at large to embrace peace, unity, and harmony, as the scountry marks this significant milestone.
He said, “As we mark this year’s Democracy Day, I acknowledge the hardships and challenges that many Nigerians still face, and I regret that our democracy has not yet yielded the desired dividends of comfort, security, and prosperity for all citizens.”
He urges residents of the State to sustain the hard-earned peace the administration has built over the last five years, warning that anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the Law.
Governor Fintiri prays for continued peace and prosperity in Adamawa State and Nigeria, as the nation marches forward in its democratic journey.
“As we celebrate our democracy, I reaffirm our administration’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure for sustainable development and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
“We will continue to prioritize projects that improve the lives of our people and guarantee the protection of lives and property, creating a prosperous and peaceful Adamawa State for all,” the Governor reaffirms.
