Senator Representing Adamawa Central at the National Assembly,Aminu Iya Abbas, has empowered 500 members of his Constituency with N50, 000 thousand naira each and also empowered another 100 youths within his constituency with POS machines credited with hundred thousand each to start up businesses of their own.

At the event which took place at Fatfatis Jimeta, the senator also inauguration of his liaison office structure drawn from the 76 political wards in the zone with the aim of creating an effective two-way communication channel between him and his constituents and to be able to design and pursue policies and programs tailored to address the developmental needs of his constituents.

The empowerment programme brought together personalities from across the state to witness the event put together by the proactive senator.

Speaking on the event Aminu Iya Abbas appreciates the people of the zone for giving him an opportunity to serve at the red chamber of the national assembly and that their vote of confidence in him will be rewarded.

He said the empowerment of 500 people with 50 thousand naira each and the provision of POS machine credited with hundred thousand naira to 100 youths is borne out of the desire to cushion the effect of the harsh economic realities faced by the people and to enable his constituents  cope with the present economic challenges.

The senator also unveiled plans to award twenty thousand naira scholarship to 2000 students from the central zone and that he has set out plans to install mini grid solar power at the Jimeta ultra modern market and Yola town market in order to faze out the era of inferno induced by power fluctuations from the national grid.

He used the forum to inaugurate his liaison office structure drawn from the 76 political wards of the zone which according to him would create an avenue to hear directly from his constituents and address their developmental needs first hand.

The Director general of Iya Abbas campaign council in the 2023 election, Usman Muhammad Kaura, said the choice of Iya Abbas to represent the good people of central zone is a wise one and that members of the central senatorial zone will continue to reap the devidents of his representation while urging them to continue to support him with prayers to do more.

Various speakers on the event lauded the quality representation of senator Aminu Iya Abbas describing him as pillar of good governance and legislator per excellence.
