Why I Prefer AUN for My Daughter Than School Overseas

Gov Umar Dikko Radda of Katsina state has praised the American University of Nigeria (AUN) saying it is one institution that has given him reasons not to send his wards to school outside the shores of this country.

Radda said, AUN has fantastic facilities, infrastructure and personnel to stand shoulder to shoulder with many universities on the global stage, hence there is no reason whatsoever to send his wards abroad to learn when they could get everything they needed within the country.

Gov. Radda made the remarks while fielding questions from newsmen in Yola at the close of the 15th commencement ceremony of the AUN in Yola, Adamawa state.

Speaking to newsmen on why he did not send his daughter abroad like other governors in the country do, Radda said, “As a patriotic citizen of this country I need to patronize my own so as encourage education in Nigeria.

“The AUN has almost every facility for learning and teaching in a world class standard, I see no reason why I will send my ward abroad while the things needed are here.”

Radda said, AUN has given my patriotism a boost and has strengthened my firm resolve that educating your child in Nigeria can be as good as it can get anywhere else in the world.

I have always believed in Nigeria and that our education can be of world standard, this institution has proven that. Its quality and standard of education is of global standard.

The Katsina state governor speaking of the security situation in his Katsina said, bandits have now taken a crazy and desperate slope because of the resolve of the state to end the activities of the bandits.
Radda said, “”We have since my recognized the fact that you can not fight this insurgency without using the locals, so we selected from the locals to train and equip, to compliment the efforts of the conventional security agencies we have in the country, and we are recording alot of successes.

“Because of these milestones we have reduced the banditry by about 60 to 70%,” he confirmed.
