
. Warns Parents of Punitive Measures Ahead
The Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sounded out a warning to parents over heightened activities of Shila Boys criminal gang urging parents to restraint their wards from indulging in the activities of the notorious Shila boys gang in Adamawa.
Fintiri said, the state has noticed an upscale in the activities of ‘Shila boys’ criminal activities within Yola metropolis who have been going about attacking law abiding citizen and whisking away with belongings of residents across the state.
Gov. Fintiri made this known during a press briefing in Yola, Adamawa state.
The gang members who are said to have in recent times attack and injure unsuspecting residents and carted away their valuables and are becoming embolden to launch more attacks on citizens.
Governor Fintiri who was represented by his deputy, Kaletapwa Farauta said it is set to wage a heavy clampdown on the notorious gang members.
Prof Kaletapwa said, “We have noticed a sharp increase in Shila Boy activities in Yola.
“We are warning parents across the state to control their children and stop them from involving themselves in actions that would even cause their lives.
“The governor has invested in skill acquisition centers with the aim of empowering our youths in order to scale down on youth restiveness.”
Fintiri also appealed to parents and stakeholders to stop shielding children who are members of Shila from arrest.
Shila boys have become notorious in Adamawa state for petty theft, burglary, attacks on residents with dangerous weapons leading to loss of lives in some instances, among many other criminal activities.
