Tinubu-Gbajabiamila, Redefining “Cutting The Cost of Governance”

See The Dramatic Change in Budget of the Office of the Chief Staff to The President Under Tinubu

The Joke of Implementing The Orosanya’s Report and Increase in Billions in the Chief of Staff to the President Budget

When Words Don’t Coincide with Action

On the backdrop of the controversial N3 trillion budget saga of the at the national assembly under president Tinubu, one would have thought a more prudent and humble approach would have been adopted by the government that claims it wants to cut down on the cost of governance by implementing the Oransanya’s report. It’s absurd and spurious to see how the budget of the office of the Chief of Staff to President, bumped up from N517.95 million in 2023 to a whoopingN21.22 billion in 2024.

It is within this period of time that the president said it was too short a time for the labour union to embark on a strike yet with the same period, it was possible to dramatically change the budget of a single office from N517.95 m to N21.22 billion?

Yet it is still within this period that “Renewed Hope” president has embarked on a winding quest with regards to the the minimum wage! How can you in one fell swoop twerk the budget of single office and find the simple task of increasing the minimum of working incredibly complicated? Note that whatever was the value of any Nigerian worker income before the coming of president Tinubu, its value and worth has been downgraded by more than half since the coming of President Tinubu?

It is clear to every Nigerian by now, that it was all a ruse that the Tinubu-led government has any intentions to cut down on the cost of governance by implementing the Stephen Oransanya’s report, inspite of its ban on overseas travel for government officials, its subsequent actions clearly nullified its claims as it went behind the back door to smuggle a fictitious N3 trillion into the 2024 budget and bumped the budget of the office of the Chief of Staff to the president by over N20 billion without fear or remorse.

The level of insensitivity of the Tinubu-led government is unprecedented! How could this government dare to wrecklessly and mercilessly splash such homongous figures into the office of the Chief of Staff alone and not feel ashamed or remorseful in a country where the cost of living has risen exponentially since the advent of this government of so-Called “Renewed Hope?” Nigerians have under a severe torture of hunger and hardship?

Millions of Nigerians are hungry because their purchasing power have been slashed by the tactless removal of fuel subsidy yet the president found it expedient to indulge in gluttony at the office if his Chief if staff?

As Nigeria’s economy continues to wobble, it is clear that the Tinubu government is only here to party all night long as the economy enjoys a free fall.
