FG Palliatives: Sen. Binos Distributes 4500 Bags of Assorted Grains to Constituents

The Senator representing southern Adamawa, Binos Dauda Yaroe, has commended the federal government over its provision of about 4500 bags of assorted grains as palliatives for distribution to his constituents in the southern zone of Adamawa state.

The grains which according to Binos’ is made up of about 3000 bags of 25kg of rice and about 1500 25kg of bags of maize are meant to be distributed to vulnerable members of his constituency across that nine local governments that make up the south senatorial district of Adamawa state.

Binos said, the project is entirely a federal government-driven initiative designed to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians and it would be implemented across the 109 senatorial districts of the country and in the 360 constituencies of the federal house of representatives across the country.

Binos explained that contrary to false reports that senators have been given grains or funds to distribute to constituents at Christmas, the palliatives intervention was only captured in the supplementary budget presented by the president in October, 2023 and was only approved on the 12th of January, 2023.

He commended the contractor for sourcing the grain locally and delivering it on time which is in a way beneficial to the local economy of southern Adamawa.

Speaking at the occasion, the supplier of the grains and CEO of ALKAS Global Investment Resources, Victoria Abubakar, commended the federal government for the initiative and for coming up with such a scheme aimed directly at alleviating the hardship of millions of Nigerians.

Victoria said, “Nigeria is a huge country in terms of population and size and it is almost impossible to reach everyone but the spirit behind the effort matters a lot as it would get to a number of citizens who needed these grains anywhere in the country.

” I will like to call on the federal government to intensify its effort with a noble and life-touching programmes that would address the struggles of the Nigerian man just like these gains would.”

Some of the beneficiaries commended the senator for fast-tracking the initiative to ensure that the commodity gets to the people in need in their communities.

Reuben Nenunilase, from Toungo local government said, “We want thank the senator for bringing the evidence of democracy to our people and we also thank the federal government for this project, this is how Nigerians will feel government closer to them.”

The representative of the Amna Shelleng, Ibrahim Haruna, commended the senator for having his people at heart and for facilitating a strict process for ensuring his people get the allocated grains in good time.

Haruna said, “Our people are now feeling like Nigerians and our senator has designed a tight process to ensure that these gains get to our people by employing the services of traditional institutions who are institutions most closer to the people.”
