Maigari Blows Hot, Says N5billion Palliatives Funds was Looted By Gov.Fintiti and His Cohorts

THOSE WHO LOOTED ADAMAWA PALLIATIVES GOT A BETTER PART OF THE DEAL THAN THOSE WHO WAITED PATIENTLY FOR IT TO COME TO THEM, BECAUSE OF THE KLEPTOMANIAC ELEMENTS AROUND GOV. FINTIRI

Can you see reaosns why poverty would never depart from some political office holder’s family?

The very concept of palliatives is embedded in the notion of cushioning the sufferings the Nigerian citizen faces in navigating daily living induced on him by decades of governance failure and of recent by the fuel subsidy removal.

In the face of economic turmoil, government has a responsibility to stepping in to provide relief materials for its citizens, the measure was meant to ease financial burdens, particularly for the vulnerable segment of our society.

However, there are instances where government palliatives seems less like aids and assume the nature of abuse and inadvertently undermining the dignity and autonomy of the citizens they are intended to help.Today, shamelessly and disgracefully, party faithfuls seem to benefit from it more than the citizen deserving it and in desperate need of it.

One of the reasons why you keep seeing some former political office holders going through difficulties and suffering in life is that, they really don’t care about the people and they keep eating what belongs to the people.

Where are the palliatives? I dare any of you that can see this post to prove you got palliatives for free and you are not a card carrying member of the party of your governor in your state.

I dare you to tell me those demeaning bags of rice and gari can feed your family for 2 months? It is preposterous.

Just because I voted for Governor Fintiri or supported PDP does not mean I should support this psychological rape and torture of our people by those previlege to be in office. As far as am concerned, there has not been palliatives palliatives for the poor in Adamawa and most states in Nigeria.

I dare to say that much of the funds for this noble endeavour, the food and non food items allocated to serve this end i.e. helping the weak in our society seems to be made for governors and their close allies against the interest of the state.

Governor Fintiri and his leautenant have failed woefully in my estimation, in their implemtation of the administration of the pallaitives. On paper, the strategy looks good but in practice, it was shabby, chaotic and enveloped in insincerity. While Gov. Fintiri might not be held personally responsible for such dastardly assault on the collective consciousness and dignity of our people who have reduced to a beggarly status for their daily bread, it must notes that the it is the primary essence of governance to make sure that policies do not end on the paper but application and results.

Gov. Fintiri should create and implement a social welfare scheme that would capture the over 3m Adamawa citizens who in need of basic livelihood support. If our governments are sincere, they could adopt the system through which WAEC, NECO OR JAMB adopts in capturing the details of Nigerian students. It is laughable, that it is only when governments want to collect tax that they would go to any extent to track citizens and get their every details but not for welfare, after all, millions of Adamawa citizens are have financial record through financial records with BVNs and phone records, we can get them if we mean business unless if governance had become a joke, like it is in Nigeria.

The Adamawa state government can check to see those who really need financial help and support them monthly, for some years till the economy is stable, but for now, fuel subsidy removal has become the coffin to bury the masses and palliatives across the country has become a neo-slavery by the political elites of our country.

Giving rice and garri to some invisible “poorest of the poor” according to gov. Ahmadu Umaru has not change the situation of most because it only ended in the stores of politicians.

If government records are anything to go by, about N5 billion would just go down the drain with no reasonable or measurable impact.

Adamawa people do not need palliatives, they need a monthly social security payments, accessable to all citizens.

I, and other Adamawa residents voted for a better life, not to condescen to this colonial subjugation of our people.
The palliatives is a shame to PDP and APC and the Tinubu government and I dare to say that those who looted the warehouses, as wrong and condemnable as it were, got better end of the deal than the law abiding citizens who waited patiently for it to come to them.

When we create a society where lawlessness seems more profitable that being law abiding, it gives credence to criminals and motivate others to join the mayhem. If we do not want the adventure of warehouses looting to go on, we must put an end to the misadventures of palliatives distribution and adopt strategy that favours tge law abiding citizens than the criminal mastermind.

If the warehouse vandal, could escape with several bags of rice and cartons of indomie, if not caught, what stops citizens from towing the part of lawlessness? The essence of entire $800m said to have been recouped from the removal of the fuel subsidy is of no consequence to the citizen especially in the face of the exponential increase in cost of living.

The big question here is that, before he fuel subsidy removal, some few Nigerians benefited from the subsidy but all Nigerians enjoys whatever comes as a result but now, it is just a change of beneficiaries while all Nigerians bare the brunt of the brutal removal!!!
