




The Adamaaa statte governor, Ahnadu Umaru Fintiri, has charged corp members of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream deployed to Adamawa State to be role models wherever they are posted across the state. Fintiri said, as corp members, they would be posted to schools where they would have young Nigerians in need of leadership and direction, they should consider it a previlege these young ones to greater heights.
He also task the corp members to be worthy ambassadors of the country, the scheme, the institution from which they studied and their families in order to make Nigeria a better place.
Fintiri made this call while declaring the closing ceremony of the orientation camp for 2023 Batch B stream 1 corp members in closed Yola, Adamawa state.
Fintiri who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, called on the corp members that as role models they should learn to deploy the social media for creative and productive uses and to respect the cultures and traditions of the communities where they have been deployed in order to enjoy a successful service year.
Fintiri, who was awarded the most NYSC friendly governor in Nigeria promised the corp members that no state in Nigeria will beat the state in terms of welfare and care for corp members.
Fintiri said, “Have it at the back of our minds that lessons learn are part of essential ingredients you need to excel during the service year and beyond.
“Be good ambassador of the scheme, your school and your families.”
Tasking corp members to be role models wherever they are posted he said, “I particularly charge those of you posted to our primary and secondary schools to see this as golden opportunity to mentor our young ones to greater heights.
“Irrespective of what your course of study is, remember that you have important role to play in brightening the future of our children.”
He tasked them to take their responsibility seriously as some of them would be assigned as head masters, CMDs, among other roles they would be assigned to.
He thanked the service and reassures the corp members of the continues Committment to their welfare and safety.
Speaking at the occasion, the State coordinator of the service in Adamawa, Jingi Dennis, commended the Adamawa state government for living up to its billing as the most friendly NYSC state in Nigeria.
Jingi said, “We remain indebted for your unwavering support which clearly demonstrates your love and passion for the NYSC scheme as well as your practical appreciation of the corps members’ contributions to the overall development of the State.
“We will on our part continue to deploy the services of our esteemed corps members to support the policies and programmes of your administration.
” As the NYSC friendly state, may we therefore appeal to His Excellency, security agencies, our royal fathers, religious and community leaders, and indeed all the good people of the state to continue with their concerted effort of ensuring adequate security for the corps members.
“As you begin the next phase of the Service, I urge you to sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work and resilience which you have imbibed during the Orientation Course. It is my ardent hope that you will strive to meet the expectations of Nigerians by contributing towards the progress and development of our dear country.
“You must desist from meddling in their local politics. Furthermore, I enjoin you to undertake personal and group Community Development Service Projects that will help to uplift the living standard of the host communities.
“Therefore, you must be wary of acts that can portray the Scheme in bad light, especially drug abuse and trafficking, cybercrime and Advanced-Fee-Fraud and spreading of fake news, amongst others.
“I urge you to avoid using the social media for ethnic jingoism, rumour peddling and the promotion of hatred. Instead, your activities online should be targeted at self-improvement as well as promotion of the unity, peace and development of our dear country.”
