Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved N10,000 allowances for state workers and pensioners for the period of six months.

He also approved the implementation of a national minimum wage for local government workers beginning next month.

The Governor has also approved the purchase of seventy trucks of maize, twenty trucks of rice and fifty trucks of fertilizer for sale to citizens at a subsidized rate.

He also approved the procurement of busses for the conveyance of workers to state Secretariat and inter Local Government transportation.

The Chief of Staff of Government House, Dr Edgar Amos who revealed this to newsmen at the Government House in Yola said the measures were to curtail the effect of subsidy removal.
