Demsa was agog with excitement, pomp and rich cultural collage reflective of the rich cultural heritage of the Demsa natives as locals from all walks of life and from all corners of Demsa, thronged to Demsa town, in honour of a woman who has etched her name in gold with a splendid and commanding representation of the Demsa people at the Adamawa state House of Assembly.

Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuna, a woman of immense quality, purpose and determination, was the center of the celebration this weekend over her outstanding victory at the polls in the just concluded elections.

The event was a collage of the diversity and cultural variety that defines the unity and harmony of the Demsa people and nation at large under the leadership of Hon. Kate Mamuno.

The civic reception, which was put together by her community to mark the re-election of Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuna for a second term in office at the state House of Assembly, representing Demsa Local Government.

“One good turn, deserves another,” is the phrase that easily comes to mind to describes Hon. Kate Mamuno’s return to the state House of Assembly as the old, and young celebrate Mamuno’s re-election.

Addressing her people at the civic reception, Mamuno thanked her constituents for the show of love at the polls and for standing tall for good governance and for the faith they showed in her to continue to represent the good people of Demsa.

Hon. Mamuno also commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the fresh air he has brought to the state and for setting the pace for good governance in the state. She also commended Sen. Binos, Hon. Kwanoti, Chief Felix Tangwami,among other key stakeholders in the southern Senatorial zone and in the state, for the support and the courage to carry on.

The top performing legislator said, “I thank all my constituents who have invested effort, time, goodwill, prayers and resources to ensure my victory in the just concluded elections, I thank you.

“I will continue to give you my best in bringing the dividends of democracy to our people and I will make Demsa my topmost and most important priority.

“I believe, I have represented you well that was why you re-elected me, and I promise to do even better now on my second term.”

Some residents of Demsa who aired their views to News Rendezvous expressed their joy at Mamuno’s victory, re-election, and performance as their representative. They said, Mamuno is the best representative they have ever had. According to them, Mamuno has been a dogged fighter for their right and has empowered thousands through her empowerment programmes.

They however call in Mamuno to close ranks and reach out to all other politicians within the local government irrespective of party, ethnic, or religious affiliations in order to build a united and prosperous Demsa.

Highlight of the occasion included various cultural displays by numerous cultural groups, a reflection of the proud cultural colour, glamour and rich heritage of the Demsa people.
