Reruns to Hold in 69 Polling Units

INEC’s state Returning Officer in Adamawa, Mele Mohammed, has officially declared Adamawa elections as inconclusive.

Announcing the results Mele declared that Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri polled a massive votes of about 421,524 winning a total of 15 of the 21 local governments while his closest challenger, the candidate of the APC, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, polled about 390, 275 votes, winning about 6 local governments to emerge a runner up in the elections.

With the announcement of the result, the fiercely contested Adamawa state elections which seems to be coming to a close until the returning Officer announced that the elections is inconclusive.

Mele said, elections were not held in 47 Registration Areas of the state and that it affecting about 69 polling units and disenfranchising about 41,796 voters, hence the elections cannot be announced since the difference between the winner and the loser is less than the total number of PVCs collected (37016) in the 69 polling units affected.
